58episode I look good in the switch stance. SK8-60
I've become much more fluid with the switch stance movement on my skateboard. My ultimate goal is to be able to skateboard so smoothly that I have to think about which stance I'm using. In particular, I had difficulty starting off in a switch stance (putting my front foot on the skateboard and pushing off the ground with my back foot to move forward). In Japan, this is called Push. I've been skating longer distances than I did when I was in my 50s, so when I push down hard I tend to wobble and lose my balance, swerving to the left and right. Switch stance was practiced during a short warm-up, I continued to work steadily and steadily (it took quite a while), and somehow I could now skate like I did in my 50s with the unfamiliar switch stance.
My switch stance didn't have anything in particular that I wanted to do in my 50s, I did have an aspiration to do a switch ollie (although I never got to do it), so I was skateboarding happily and lightly. Just thinking about my switch stance in my 60s, dreaming one goal after another, is exciting. Skateboarding tricks are complex and have an endless number of variations, so the switch stance will be very relevant to them. I have high hopes for my switch stance and will push my limits as much as I can to practice skateboarding tricks.
My immediate goal with switch stance is to do a front 180 (I haven't made it yet, but I will definitely get it done), which will allow me to land in switch stance, so I would like to skate through it with gracefully.
