70episode Backside Pop Shove-it (2) SK8-60
Backside Pop Shove-it is a trick where you pop the tail of your skateboard, turn it 180 degrees in the air, and then get on top of it.
Now that I've gotten used to turning the skateboard 180 degrees, I'm practicing the next step. I stand on the skateboard with both feet, pop it with hind legs, turn it 180 degrees, and then ride it with just my front foot while catching the skateboard with just my front foot (I drop my back foot to the ground).
For me, riding with just my front feet is not difficult, as it's just an extension of practicing turning the skateboard 180 degrees. My Kickflip practice had been going well up until this stage, but when I tried to get on with both feet, my front foot would hit the ground first (down kick) and I couldn't land it (I've currently stopped practicing Kickflip and am researching the issues with the down kick). So for me, the most difficult part of Backside Pop Shove-it comes from here on out. I just want to avoid a repeat of Kickflip.
In videos and other media, it is explained that the skateboard makes it easy to move forward, so straddle it and jump on., but I find it difficult to jump forward onto the skateboard while turning it (I've been getting more and more scared recently, so this seems a bit of a high hurdle). I will practice putting just my front foot on the board a bit more and see how it goes.
